21 May 2003

yo yo! long(ish) time no write.
i am currently at my uncle jb's... still philly. my flight home is on sun.
the move was crazy on fri. much thanks to the uncle. we then scurried back to his place through rush hour to drop off my crud and then high tail it back to philly and made it just in time for me to get in to see batboy the musical. AMAZING. my advisor is the director and co-founder of the company, one of my teachers was in the cast, another teacher from my school was in the cast, as was a graduate from my school, and one of my fellow ata's was the sound board operator. anyways, ben dibble's performance was freakishly swell. he even sang (no, more like belted) upside down, hanging bat-style. ::drool:: so i stayed after and got the cast to sign a poster. well, left it there over night so that i could get the whole gang to sign... yeah picked it up the next day.
walking with kara afterward, i notice that we have come upon a downed streetlamp that is sparking and arching electricity. we stop. stare, mouths agape. then we realize, um, it is raining. we are standing in water. let's not. so we get a few paces away and i decide to call 911. while i do that, kara shouts warnings to other pedestrians. she yells things like "lookout, it's alive!" and people look at her weird and keep walking. ok mind you, it is around 11 pm and it is not abnormal to see strange people shouting weird things, i give them that benefit. but the firepeople came and looked at us weird when we flagged them down and pointed at it.
well, we were heroes.
sat was gaybingo. *brain, of pinky and the brain, voice* someday, pinky, i will rule the world of stage management.   the short of the story is that i wanna take over the sm position (no puns perv) and some others want me to too, but you can't really fire the volunteer who's doing it now. so i am edging my way in. i've lots of other [volunteer] job possibilities. exciting.

i am currently being surveyed by a weird bug in my uncle's office. it keeps doing a scooby doo around all the drawers... going in one, coming out another, type deal.

sun and mon have been lazy.
my sister is getting tested for diabetes. they took her to the hospital to get quick results and train her and my parents how to take care of her. she's been there two nights now, poor thing.
today i sat in the sun; i am red. hung with joanna. drew. did the warm up with her at her dance school. oof i miss dancing, but i don't at the same time. maybe just not traditional ballet. and more laziness.
and now i am spent.

15 May 2003

a missed photo op:
walking down the street i see a man with his dalmation. two steps later i see a black beetle with dalmation seat and steering-wheel covers. i turn to ask the guy if i could take a picture with his dog looking at the car, but he was already halfway across broad.
that woulda been nifty.

packin... and some more packin. move out tomorrow.
(a little cleaning too)
then it's hi ho hi ho, off to jb's i go

can't wait to break in the new sketchbook i paid too much for

nan told me again today how much she loves me and how cute i am. she asked what my family was like and said she could tell that i have a loving one. good parents. :)

i am going to be the asm (assistant stage manager) for we tell the story, the first show in the arts bank next semester yeeeeeeeeee

14 May 2003

ventured out to ambler to see johnnie hobbs, jr in my way, a tribute to frank sinatra. WOW. i almost didn't go because i thought he was going to be dumb, but he was really good and better than the musical oriented actors. totally upstaged them. i was the youngest person there - nobody near my age. i sat front row and johnnie pulled me up onstage and we danced. wow again. it's parta the show, but it was just funny to be dancing with him, my professor. so, i waited to see him afterward and we were catching the same train home, so we talked a lot. pretty cool. got him to autograph my program. ha. he was very thankful to me for coming out.
just fun. i love adventure.

a good night ;)

i saw my roommate again last night...
the mouse.

i just finished cunt by inga muscio.
very good. i recommend it to all my women friends and the open minded guys.
i can't wait for her next one to come out - this year!

10 May 2003

i bought a used copy of muppet treasure island for $3. i think my sister will like it. if not, heck im keepin it!
phew. i got an a- on a paper i spent 6 hours on for modernism and i think i did ok on the final.
went out with white chocolate to the restaurant called more than just ice cream. that was the second most scrumptous meal i've had in philly. greek chicken tostada. #1 was at tequilas w/uncle jb.
soooooooo excited to room with this chica. we've come to accept that we will most likely do this often - find a nice place to eat and just absorb the atmosphere. i've got the smile.
my roommate is all moved out now.
i am already missing the cookware.
i could really go for crepes right now.
was supposed to go to ny with sean today... uh. obviously not there now, am i? i think he fell off the planet.
i tried to not be a procrastinator yesterday (yay for me) but the library closed. this is a sign. this is the second time this semester has happened and i am a little discouraged.

07 May 2003

it is interesting how my life is different from other people's.
i love my life, did i tell you?
talking with dad yesterday; he is working on getting his house fixed up so that his girlfriend will move in with him. been doing a lot of remodeling. her oldest daughter is a senior in high school, and the other is 13. there are three spare bedrooms. one for me, one for shawna, and the other is tentative. see, carli was going to be moving into an apartment with her boyfriend, but he lost his job recently.
now the idea being considered is them, carli and rusty, staying in the spare room, kinda as tenants.
this baffles me. well not so extreme. i guess it is just the difference in our families, lifestyles, i dont know how to explain. i guess it strikes me wierd, them living together, since i am not yet in that frame of mind yet myself - a serious relationship. plus, how calm and naturally my dad explained to me that they have already been, er, sharing a bed at her mom's... they do have a different lifestyle. i could go into some family history, but we could just say the circumstances in that family have been different than in mine.
i talked with morgan the other day. she's the only friend from home that i've really stayed in touch with. she gave me the dish on where people from school are now. i knew that tony joined the army and was in like, raleigh, and as of january was supposed to get married. morgan is supposed to do their flowers! apparently with the war, he got transferred to texas and his wedding is put off. chris is in texas, too, in the army. i can't believe that emily joined. she is off fighting somewhere, like armenia?. michelle is a machine-gunnist overseas too. so our girls got sent out, while the guys are on reserve.
wow
me? i'm gonna go home and get some lil summer job. live with my parents (for free). relax. visit friends. celebrate my 19th.

06 May 2003

i had something amazing to write in there yesterday but there was too much traffic on the internet. now i can't remember.

i am coming home for the summer
muhlenberg didn't want me and that is ok
